How To Prepare Your Car For Warmer Weather

March 1, 2022

Spring is approaching fast in the month of March. It is a time for new beginnings, and people like to do "spring cleaning" this time of year. When we think of spring, our cars are probably an afterthought. This is not a good mindset because taking care of your vehicle is just as important as other areas in your life!

We often think that cars are still in good condition after a winter season, but this isn't necessarily true. After a winter season, our vehicles can be left with unnoticeable damage that is easy to miss. Here at Dubwerx, we recommend following these helpful tips to prepare your car for warmer weather best.

Get your car's tires checked:
Getting your car's tires checked is essential when preparing it for the warmer weather ahead. Taking it to the shop is the best thing to do so they can check everything from tire pressure to tire tread. Doing this easy preventative measure will ensure your tires will keep going for as long as possible.

Get your car's brakes checked:
A good rule of thumb for brakes that need checking is if you hear a grinding sound when you use them. It is always a good idea to get a brake inspection if you suspect any kind of weird noise while braking.

Check your car's battery:
Your car's battery is essential in powering the electronics in your vehicle. After a winter season, some batteries experience faster drainage, so it is good to get your battery checked by a mechanic to see what state it is in!

Request your car's fluids checked:
During the winter season, your car's fluids may have drained. Some of the fluids that you should ask your technicians to check are:

  • Power steering
  • Brake
  • Transmission
  • Windshield washer solvent
  • Antifreeze/coolant
