Keep Your Audi, Volkswagen, and Porsche Hydrated By Checking These Fluids

March 1, 2021

Just like how you need fluids to stay hydrated, your Audi, Volkswagen, and Porsche do too. Your vehicle is comprised of various systems, including your braking system or steering system, and each of these systems requires different types of fluids in order for your vehicle to properly perform. It is important for a qualified technician to check your Audi’s, Volkswagen’s, and Porsche’s fluids regularly.

What exactly is the purpose of my vehicle’s fluids? If you are looking to preserve your vehicle’s fuel economy and longevity, proper fluid level is necessary. There are six key fluids in your vehicle that need to be maintained on a routine schedule. These fluids are engine, coolant (antifreeze), power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid.

Your engine components spin at thousands of reps per minute and your oil keeps all of these parts lubricated to minimize friction and optimal performance. Your coolant, as the name suggests, keeps your engine cool during warmer temperatures and warm during chiller weather. Coolant also reduces the risk of corrosion, deposits, and foam negatively affecting your vehicle’s cooling capacity.

Power steering fluid keeps your Audi, Volkswagen, and Porsche steering straight as you wind through the Cincinnati streets. Brake fluid plays a major role in making sure when you step on your vehicle’s brakes, you actually stop. Your transmission fluid lubricates and cools all the components of your transmission. Without windshield wipers, your visibility would be severely compromised. Windshield wiper fluid helps you see clearly, as your windshield wipers are your first line of defense against the elements.

When you bring your Audi, Porsche, or Volkswagen to our shop for service, we will carefully examine your fluid levels to ensure your vehicle is properly hydrated.
